BIO-1 Buzz
                                                                            February 2009

Dear Bio-1 Community,

Welcome to the February Bio-1 Buzz, our e-newsletter to connect you to the Central New Jersey WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development) Bio-1 region’s activities.  This month, we would like to share some positive economic and workforce news for the bioscience industry from BioNJ and the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) as well as a great list of training and educational opportunities.  On March 12th, New Jersey will have its first BioBreak, a wonderful opportunity to network – check it out! At Bio-1, we are busy rounding out our portfolio of funded projects with a Request for Proposals for three projects.  Our spotlight this month is on Bio-1’s Governance Board member Gary Surmay from Bayer HealthCare.  Stay tuned as our newly updated website and Internship Matching portal will roll out soon.  Getting real life experience is a vital component for our future workforce – please contact Lisa Weisser if you have internship opportunities or students looking for opportunities.

As always, please visit our website www.bio-one.org and don’t forget to pass along the buzz.

Sincerely,
Mary Ellen Clark
Executive Director, WIRED Bio-1
