BIO-1 Buzz
                                                                            April 2009

Dear Bio-1 Community,

Welcome to the April Bio-1 Buzz, our e-newsletter to connect you to the Central New Jersey WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development) region’s activities.  We are very excited to introduce Bio-1's Internship and Job Matching portal to connect you – job seekers and students with employment opportunities.  The portal contains a unique search function as well as candidate profiles tied to the national biotechnology competency model.   Our spotlight this month is on Bio-1’s Governance Board member Dr. Carl Van Horn, Director of the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, written by one of our Bio-1 student interns, Rashi Jain.  Of interest to educators are two Bio-1 funded projects for educators, CONNECT-ED and a downloadable Curriculum for Entrepreneurship Education.  Please send feedback on the website by email to Lisa Weisser at: lweisser@rci.rutgers.edu. As always, our Events and Programs page contains a variety of opportunities to help you grow and learn.  It’s not too early to register for the 3rd annual Summit on Women and Science, this year focusing on careers in “green” technologies.

As always, please visit our website www.bio-one.org and don’t forget to pass along the buzz.

Sincerely,
Mary Ellen Clark
Executive Director, WIRED Bio-1
